Paralysed Cat by Accidnet

 Case No. 002:

A cat got paralysed after an accident by a car.

Hy this is Dr Zahid Afzal DVM, recently got a case of cat which is is basically a hit and run case by a car. Few surrounded people saw the cat and one of them took her to my clinic for any urgency treatment. I gave detailed checkup to her, although she was not in senses and quite aggressive towards humans. Definitely she should be as one of us hit her by car and ran from the spot without even looking into her. Anyhow the person who took her to me by himself a labor of some factory.

After examining and detailed checkup I found two option which could be happen to the cat which are as following:

1. Cat had a muscular rupture.

2. Nerves of cat could be compressed

Before giving any final final judgement we need to check some treatments, so I gave the cat a strong pain killer which not only reduces the pain but also could be helpful in type of swelling in the body. The name of that pain killer was Ketoject. Along with this the cat was provided with some of oral medication to give her relief from pain.

On next day the Cat visit at clinic again but this time she was eating perfectly, but unable to move her legs completely. Upon given on external reflexes cat didn't response well. So final diagnose which was made by me that she is now paralyzed and will not be able to walk again. So we gave the rescuer a multivitamin tablets for 5 days usage and tell him to keep the cat Indoor. So there are not 10% chances that cat will move again on her legs.

Conclusion:

Common cases like this are not recovered properly as nerves got damaged and this affect their complete nervous system. So assuming this case as non treatable is not a right thing, as a vet we should try till last breath to save our patient. I will update further if we got any good news and I will share it with you. I hope you like this article and I will wait for your precious comments and response.
