 A Message for Young Vets, Young Vet Students and Veterinarians

Hi…. This is Dr Zahid Afzal DVM from General Veterinary Hospital Lahore, Welcome to the website’s page case discussion with Dr Zahid Afzal. I am here to guide you all about the veterinary field cases, veterinary field practices, about veterinary books at veterinary with use of veterinary videos. So let's start with most commonly used term it is known as malpractice, first of all I want to ask myself one question that who are quacks…? And how they affect our field badly and why the most of our veterinarian remain unemployed even after three or four years after completion of their degree. Actually these quacks are production of our self, we produce them we guide them and we generate them to this instance that they can compete with you and they can become your competitor. So I would like to ask you once again that are you in a satisfied condition from your practice…? Are you enough satisfied from your field….? And are you enough satisfied from your skills….? If you are not satisfied, if you are not having a complete grip over your skills then I think you must change your field. My aim when I completed my degree was just to establish a veterinary clinic, and to establish myself as a Vet and as a practitioner. I don't want to do any type of marketing job because it's not a job of doctor, it's job of a marketer and it’s a job of MBA degree holder. So why the Vets are doing the marketing of different companies selling different types of product to the illiterate quacks present in a field. I am not against to the veterinary assistant because they have done a proper diploma of 2 years and they have practice a lot but question is I saw many quacks who just spend one month or two month with a veterinary doctor and a veterinary assistant became a well-established doctor in their area how is this even possible. Mostly we got complain that the DVM doctors are not ready to work in the field along with the work force, so due to this factor The quacks are doing practice and they are damaging the Vet’s career.  So my online presence and this website this blog and my YouTube videos my Face book pages and my Face book profile all are working just for the sake of providing my skills to the young veterinarians, to the young veterinary doctors and to the veterinary student so they can easily decide what they have to do after completion of their degree…? And what they should know before entering into the field.  First of all the way to the graduates of the veterinary students who are freshly entering into the field should keep in focus or should keep in mind that what is their aim…? whether their aim is to do the practice, either their aim is to do the marketing, either their aim is to do the non functional job either the function is to do any office job, and suppose if they select that they want to do practice then they must focus that in which field they want to do the practice…? Either it's pets like cat and dogs, either its birds like chicks parrots Etc, either they want to practice in livestock sector like cattle, buffalo, sheep, goat, camel and other they want to do their practice in wildlife. Suppose someone is having interest in pets like cat and dog but he or she is doing practice in livestock field then he or she will be totally failed and owners and his or her clients will also be disappointed because he cannot be able to treat animals properly because it's not his or her passion it's just for the sake to earn the money. So keep in mind that firstly you need a strong passion you need a strong aim, once you have good passion, once you have a good aim then not even you can earn a handsome amount of money but also you can publicize your name you can be a legend of veterinary field. The main and the most important issue in a field as far as in my 6 years career, I observed is leg pulling by the other Vets ,suppose one client came to my clinic and his animal not got recovered as per prescribed time then he will move to another veterinary clinic in Lahore but at the same time the other veterinary clinic in the Lahore will guide to that patient that your previous veterinary doctor was unable to diagnose the right disease condition and he administer your pet with wrong medications. I mean this is ridiculous, this is hilarious; this is shameful act by which we are not degrading the other Vet but ultimately we are degrading ourselves. My question is that how much we will earn by the leg pulling…? Nothing we can get anything and 1000 rupees we can earn 2000 rupees we can earn 4000 rupees but we cannot earn respect.  So the fresh graduates I will advise them please don't go for leg pulling don't go for making a lobby just be independent, just be focused on your aim and just be focused on your practice. It will be a blessing for you; it will be a great gift from God to you. So I've got too much for this but just wanted to tell everyone that nothing is secret to me I will guide everyone who needs knowledge and skills without any cost, without any hesitation because according to me nothing is secret but your knowledge will increase if you share your knowledge with others and it's the teaching of Islam and being Muslim I believe it strongly.
